Mary Forhan, PhD is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy. Prof. Forhan is a health researcher who applies occupational and rehabilitation science lenses to research focused on bariatric care and rehabilitation, with the goals of reducing the disability experienced by persons living with obesity; improving the quality of care patients with obesity receive; and, reducing the burden of obesity on the healthcare system.  She is the Scientific Director, Obesity Canada and Vice-President, Association of Canadian Occupational Therapy University Programs.

Prof. Forhan worked clinically as an occupational therapist for 15 years before starting her PhD. She comes to U of T from University of Alberta, where she served as Chair of the Department of Occupational Therapy.
