Professor Naomi Davids-Brumer OT Reg. (Ont.) has worked clinically for 18 years with adults and older adults in hospital, community, long-term care and private practice settings. Her passion for mental health clinical work led to her Master’s research on student mental health in post-secondary education. Since joining the department’s fieldwork team, Professor Davids-Brumer supports students and clinical sites during placements. She is pursuing her PhD in Health Professions Education Research through UofT’s Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation.

Areas of Research / Educational Scholarship

Professor Davids-Brumer's research and education scholarship focuses on learning that occurs within clinical learning spaces, primarily in OT and rehabilitation professions. Currently, she is exploring the phenomenon of healthcare student failure in clinical settings, with a specific interest in understanding the students' perspective and experience. The goal is to use this research to facilitate innovative solutions and remediation approaches for struggling learners.
