The objective of the professional master program is to prepare graduates who can:
practice independently in a range of settings and in a variety of roles (for example, in interdisciplinary programs, in private practice, in primary health care settings, and as consultants and case managers)
supervise rehabilitation assistants, OT aides or other support workers
use principles of evidence-based practice to guide and evaluate service delivery
contribute to research that will advance the knowledge base of the discipline
assume management roles
take leadership roles in the profession
take leadership roles in health care and other sectors including social services, education and labour
fill academic-practitioner positions
pursue a PhD and careers in academia or clinical research, following some additional preparation
