Professor Jane Davis is a registered occupational therapist with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario and the NBCOT (USA). She received a BSc (Psych) from McGill University, Montreal, and a BScOT and MSc from the University of Western Ontario, London, Canada. Professor Davis has received five departmental awards, two Certificates of Appreciation from the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists for her work as co-editor of the Sense of Doing column in OT Now and as a co-author for Enabling Occupation II. She was also Associate Editor, Qualitative and Executive Editor of the Canadian Journal of Occupational Therapy from 2011 to 2019.

Areas of Research / Educational Scholarship

Professor Davis has a strong interest in understanding occupation, specifically occupational engagement, occupational development, and occupational repertoire. She has also engaged in research focused on mental health and substance use. Professor Davis' pedagogical scholarship has focused on understanding the foundations of occupational therapy education; therapeutic-use-of-self within teaching; and leveraging uncertainty as a skill for education and practice.
