Congratulations to second-year MScOT student Giullia Peck on receiving a Student Leadership Award from the University of Toronto!
During her time in the program, Giullia has demonstrated her commitment to supporting U of T students and future students.
Giullia has volunteered with the UTSC Imani Black Academic Mentorship program, U of T's Summer Mentorship Program (Occupational Therapy Day), and MScOT application support (Temerty Community of Support). The impact of her work has improved recruitment and in-program support for students from equity deserving groups.
Giullia has taken on several leadership activities, including work on our Student Association and Student Affairs committee. This is a truly exceptional commitment in the context of a highly demanding professional master's program, where Giullia also excels academically.
“Having worked alongside Giullia on our student affairs committee, I would like to add what a pleasure Giullia is to work with,” says Christie Welch, Assistant Professor and Graduate Coordinator in the Department of Occupational Science & Occupational Therapy. “She takes on this work from a deep commitment to service and to promoting equity.”
Congratulations, Giullia, on this wonderful achievement!
The University of Toronto Student Leadership Award (UTSLA) continues the spirit of the retired Cressy Award. Recipients of the UTSLA join the distinguished community of past Cressy Award recipients in being honoured for their exemplary leadership and volunteer service to U of T.
