Dr. Shlomit Rotenberg, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Occupational Science & Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto. She received her training as an occupational therapist (BOT) at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where she also earned her MSc and PhD degrees. Dr. Rotenberg’s decade of clinical care included an interdisciplinary geriatric clinic that uses a team-based approach to provide holistic care that covers medical, functional, psychological, and social aspects; an out-patient clinic serving adults and older adults with cognitive impairments; and community homecare.

Areas of Research / Educational Scholarship

Dr. Rotenberg’s research is situated at the intersection between cognition, aging, and participation in daily activities. Her work aims to enhance meaningful activity participation among older adults and individuals with cognitive impairments. Driven by the core premise of the occupational therapy profession—that activity participation is linked to health and well-being—her research explores social and leisure activities as health-promoters.
