Linna Tam-Seto
Dr. Linna Tam-Seto is a registered occupational therapist with a PhD in Rehabilitation Science from Queen’s University. She was the inaugural Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Canadian Defence and Security Network at Queen’s, where she developed a mentorship program for women in the Canadian Armed Forces. At McMaster University, she led research on the effects of military sexual trauma on women. She is a research faculty member with the Families Matter Research Group, focusing on mentorship initiatives and the health and wellbeing of security and defense families.
Areas of Research / Educational Scholarship
Dr. Tam-Seto’s research focuses on the identification and clinical implementation of occupation-specific cultural competencies, understanding the role and identity experiences of women in security and defence careers, and the impact of security and defence careers on the life course of families. She has held research grants as Principal Investigator and Co-PI with institutions including Veterans Affairs Canada, Department of National Defence Canada, and the Canadian institute of Health Research and worked closely with local, national, and international collaborators and organizations in support of security and defence families.
