Celebrating 100 Years

The Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy is celebrating our 100th anniversary with special events throughout 2018.

The theme for our celebration is OT in Mental Health and Wellness, with several events planned:

  • A birthday party in February 2018, to celebrate the first occupational therapy course for ward aides 100 years ago (stories and photos)
  • The Thelma Cardwell Lecture, presented by Heidi Cramm, PhD titled 100 Years Later: How Trauma Continues to Shape Occupational Therapy (stories and photos)
  • A centenary celebration in the spring for all OT and POT Alumni
  • Launch of the MScOT Program at University of Toronto Mississauga, featuring a keynote address focusing on student mental health and well-being in Fall 2018 (stories and photos)

Between events, keep up with our centenary activities by engaging with us on social media as we honour the Department’s achievements; recognize the contributions of current students, alumni and faculty; and envision the future impact of our research, teaching and practice.
