Exceptional Fieldwork Teaching Award
Congratulations to Jennifer Joachimides, Unity Health Toronto – Providence Healthcare.
Jennifer has demonstrated both a strong commitment to and a high level of skill in fieldwork teaching, supervising 27 students over the past 14 years. She works with a diversity of learners at all stages and invests herself fully in students who excel, those who struggle, and all others. Jennifer has also been involved as a clinical lab instructor and is passionate about teaching hands-on skills. Fieldwork students consistently recognize Jennifer for her excellent clinical teaching skills. Here are comments from recent students:
Jennifer keeps up to date on important evidence-based practice considerations as well as innovative methods of adult learning which she implements in her various roles as an educator for students and colleagues. It is extremely rare to find an educator like Jennifer who has such a strong intrinsic desire for growth and learning that permeates through each and every education session and informal conversation.
Not only did (Jennifer) care for my learning, but the learning of others, as she also ran a hands-on transfer lab for all OT and nursing students on the unit…What made (Jennifer) stand out was her collaborative efforts, as she always treated me like a colleague and not “just a student”.
Jennifer has shown leadership, dedication, passion, and expertise in all her work with student OTs and is an exemplary contributor to our MScOT program.
