Andrea Duncan

Andrea Duncan, BScOT, MBA, PhD, OT Reg. (Ont.) is an Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, in the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy and Associate Dean, Regional at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine. In her role as Associate Dean, she provides strategic leadership for health professions education at the University of Toronto Mississauga and the Mississauga Academy of Medicine, working to strengthen connections among academic programs, clinical partners, health systems, and the communities they serve. Within OS&OT, Prof. Duncan is the Vice-Chair, Education. Prof. Duncan is also Co-Director of Education with the International Centre for Disability and Rehabilitation, where she contributes to international education and capacity-building initiatives. Prof. Duncan is a registered occupational therapist in Ontario.

Areas of Research / Educational Scholarship

Prof. Duncan teaches across the MScOT program with a particular focus on systems and population health, leadership, program development and evaluation, and the transition to professional practice. She also leads international fieldwork and global learning opportunities for occupational therapy students. Her scholarly interests focus on research on education in occupational therapy and the health professions, including curriculum and pedagogical innovation, leadership development, program evaluation, global health education, and approaches to strengthening the connection between education and clinical practice.
