Professor Andrea Duncan appointed Vice Dean, Regional (Mississauga), Temerty Faculty of Medicine

Professor Andrea Duncan

The Department of Occupational Science & Occupational Therapy is proud to share that Professor Andrea Duncan has been appointed to the role of Associate Dean, Regional (Mississauga) in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine for a five-year term, commencing July 1, 2026.

In this role, Prof. Duncan will provide strategic leadership and administrative oversight in support of the advancement and continuous improvement of health professions education at the Mississauga Academy of Medicine (MAM) at University of Toronto Mississauga. Prof. Duncan will continue to build and strengthen relationships with hospitals and community sites in the Mississauga community.

She says, “I am honoured to be able to step into this role. Dr. Alison Freeland has been instrumental in supporting the introduction of both medicine and occupational therapy education programs at MAM. I am very excited to continue to build partnerships with the larger University of Toronto Mississauga community and with our Mississauga clinical community, especially Trillium Health Partners. There has been tremendous organic growth of interdisciplinary activities between medicine and occupational therapy and we will continue to find ways to ensure that all learners at MAM have an equitable and exceptional learning experience.”

During Prof. Duncan’s term in her new role, she will continue to be involved with our department in her role as Vice Chair, Education and as the Co-Director of Education for the International Centre for Disability and Rehabilitation (ICDR).
